Doug Haag's Bike Journey Begins

Doug Haag is about to start his bicycle trip across the United States. He wanted to send out a quick greeting with a few links related to the bike trip and encourage you to keep them all in your prayers. He is headed for Tampa Sunday, and spending the night with a fellow cyclist—he is catching an early non-stop flight to LAX in the morning. "Thank you so much for your support and prayers up to this point. Please pray that all God’s purposes will be accomplished through this adventure…and they will, in Jesus' Name!"

Pray for Margaret: Surgery Thursday, Sept. 6th

Margaret is HOME: she went home Sunday, Sept. 16th. She is in pain, walking with a walker, and has a wonderfully positive attitude. The physical therapist came to the house today to assess what they can do at home with therapy. Keep Margaret and her family in your prayers!

Update: Saturday, Sept. 15th, 7:30pm

Good news!!! Margaret is going home Sunday!! This is good news. She is still in pain of course, but doing well in her physical therapy. They will be sending someone out to the house to continue physical therapy, and a nurse will come out as well. John has moved her bedroom upstairs on the main floor so she will not have to do stairs and everything will be closer for her. We continue to remember Margaret and her family in our prayers.

Update: Friday, Sept. 14th, 11pm. After 1 week Margaret is doing well. She is in the transitional unit of St. Mary's and is doing therapy 2 times a day. She is still of course in pain, but is sticking with her therapy like a trooper. Cindy has gone home after being at the hospital day and night. Remember Margaret in your prayers. She possibly can have therapy done 3 times a week with someone coming to the house - so this is good news.

Update: Friday, 6:00pm. Margaret is doing well. She is in lots of pain, but they expected that. She has been up walking out in the hall and has a remarkable attitude! They have mentioned her going home on Sunday, depending on how she is doing. Cindy is still there taking good care of her, so that is a blessing.

Update: Friday, 9:30am. Margaret has had a lot of pain and nausea thru the night and this morning. Cindy is staying with her and said that she is dozing in and out with medication.

Update: Thursday, 6pm. Margaret is in a room and in pain, but is already up and walked to the door! She is chipper and probably almost ready to run down the hall! Cindy is there and spending the night if anyone wants to call and check up on Margaret. If anyone has another update please email me and I'll put it on the blog.

Update: Thursday, 11am. Surgery is over and went very well. The doctor was able to do exactly what he wanted to do and she is headed to recovery. Surgery must have started before 10am - but this is very good news!

Update: Thursday, 10am. Margaret's surgery started at 10am and should be a 2 hour surgery.

Margaret is having a much, much needed hip replacement surgery early Thursday morning at St. Mary's hospital. We pray for the doctors and nurses during surgery, for Margaret and her family, and for recovery and therapy after surgery.

Laura's Silent Retreat

Laura spent the first week of August on silent retreat at the Abbey of Gethsemani, a wonderfully peaceful monastery in KY (http://www.monks.org/). Enjoy some of her wonderful pictures with me as we all wish we could go have a week alone. Check with Laura if you are interested! (Laurakrosser@hotmail.com) It sounds like something worth looking into. The picture below shows a ladder that will take you to the 3rd floor. My question is did Laura go up that ladder to the 3rd floor?

Laura is still recovering her energy level after shingles, but feeling a little better each day. She is getting ready to give six more concerts and events during the next month (listed on her website), in addition to resuming her school-year work routine and teaching 12 piano students. So prayers for health and stamina are appreciated....that silent retreat was a great way to prepare for a busy season!

Elsa is dedicated to the Lord.

Elsa Faye was dedicated to the Lord at Grace Community Church on Sunday, August 19th. David and Rachel Rosser were the proud parents. Elsa's Great-grandparents, Harold and Virginia Rosser were there, along with grandparents Beth and Roger Briggs and Bill and Linda Rosser. She also had several aunts, uncles and cousins there. Elsa slept most of the afteroon, so we did not have many new pictures of her, but you can see the family members enjoying pizza and visiting together in the slideshow above.

Lynn and Blake had the most beautiful wedding in Key West, FL on December 1st, 2006. Enjoy their wonderful wedding pictures. The happy couple live in Nashville with their "oh so cute" baby, Bradley. One of Lynn's favorite things to do is sit on their patio with her handsome husband Blake, and Bradley at her side. Congratulations to Lynn and Blake!! We love you and are so happy to have Blake in the family.........oh yes, and Bradley, too.
